How much do you know about the daily maintenance and storage of tarpaulins?

May 18, 2023

To maintain and store PE (polyethylene) tarpaulin on a daily basis, follow these steps:

1. Shake off debris: Remove any loose dirt, leaves, or debris from the tarpaulin by shaking it or using a broom or brush.

2. Wipe clean: If there are stains or spills on the tarpaulin, use a mild soap or detergent solution and a soft cloth or sponge to wipe the affected areas. Rinse with clean water and allow it to dry.

3. Air dry: After cleaning, hang the tarpaulin or lay it flat in a well-ventilated area to air dry completely. Make sure both sides are dry to prevent mold or mildew growth.

4. Fold properly: Once dry, fold the tarpaulin neatly to avoid creases and wrinkles. Start by folding it in half, then in half again, and continue until you have a compact size for storage. Avoid sharp folds or bending the tarpaulin excessively, as it may weaken the material.

5. Store in a dry place: Store the folded tarpaulin in a clean, dry area away from direct sunlight, moisture, and extreme temperatures. Consider using a storage bag or container to protect it from dust and pests.

6. Regular inspections: Periodically check the tarpaulin for any signs of damage, such as tears or holes. Repair or replace damaged areas promptly to maintain its effectiveness and longevity.

By following these daily maintenance and storage practices, you can keep your PE tarpaulin in good condition and extend its lifespan.
