Woven water hoses (also called PE woven water hoses) and injection molded water hoses are two different types of water hoses. They are very different in structure, materials and uses.
1. Structure and materials:
- Woven water hose: PE woven water hose is usually made of polyethylene (PE) material and is characterized by a woven fiber structure on the inside. This braided structure enhances the strength and durability of the water hose. This structure also enables the PE braided hose to resist distortion and pressure when carrying pressure water, making it suitable for harsher environmental conditions.
- Injection molded hose: Injection molded hose is usually made from one or more plastic materials. The manufacturing process is to inject thermoplastic materials into a mold to create a shape. The construction of injection molded hoses is usually solid and does not have a braided structure. They usually have one or more layers of plastic material on the inside.
2. Purpose:
- Woven hoses: PE woven hoses are usually used in applications that require higher durability and pressure resistance, such as agricultural irrigation, construction sites, gardening, etc. Due to their woven construction, they are able to withstand a certain amount of pressure and perform well in harsher environmental conditions.
- Injection-molded hose: Injection-molded hose is commonly used for general home and gardening purposes. They are suitable for low pressure and light use such as watering plants, washing cars, etc. Due to its relatively simple structure, it is not suitable for withstanding high pressure water flow.
3. Durability:
- Braided hoses are generally more durable and can withstand more stress and daily use.
- Injection molded hose generally performs well in lighter applications but is susceptible to damage under higher pressures.
To summarize, the main differences between braided hoses and injection molded hoses are construction, materials, and purpose. Which hose to choose depends on your specific needs and use. If greater durability and the ability to withstand pressure are required, then PE woven hose may be a better choice. However, for general home and garden use, injection molded hose is usually sufficient.
