Which PE or PVC withstand high temperatures

Which PVC or PE hose is more resistant to high temperatures?

October 26, 2023

In general, PE (polyethylene) hoses are more resistant to high temperatures than PVC (polyvinyl chloride) hoses. PE materials generally have higher heat resistance and can maintain their physical properties and strength at higher temperatures. PE hose can typically withstand temperatures ranging from 60°C (140°F) to 80°C (176°F), depending on its type and manufacturing process.

However, be aware that different types of PE hose may have different heat resistance properties, so you should check the product specifications or manufacturer's guidelines to ensure that the PE hose selected is suitable for your specific high temperature application.

In comparison, regular PVC hose tape typically begins to soften around 60°C (140°F), so may not be as suitable in high temperature conditions. If you need to use a hose in a high temperature environment, a PE hose may be a better choice. However, PE hose may be relatively fragile at low temperatures, so the appropriate material should be selected based on the specific use environment and needs.
